The Iceland Series of drawings and photographs derive from a visit to the country earlier this year (2023). The elemental landscape of lava fields, waterfalls and active and dormant volcanoes, sited above the northern Mid-Atlantic ridge, is in a constant state of flux. Iceland’s prima materia is basalt, formed from cooling magma and the qualities of light, air and water shape the visual aesthetic.
